If it fits in a cargo van, it is a run.

A cargo van is the right size for most commercial freight — big enough for a pallet, small enough to pull up to a loading dock or a storefront door. Here is what that covers in practice.

  • Same-day commercial runs
    01

    Same-day commercial runs

Something has to be across town today, not next week.

A purchase order comes in and the part has to reach the job site before the crew leaves. Or a customer is waiting on a replacement and the difference is a few hours. Call early enough in the day and the run gets made the same day.

  • Scheduled and recurring routes
    02

    Scheduled and recurring routes

The same stops, on a rhythm your business can plan around.

Weekly or twice-weekly loops between your shop, your storage and your clients. Set the stops and the days once, and the van shows up on that schedule instead of you chasing a different driver every week.

  • Business-to-business transfers
    03

    Business-to-business transfers

Between your locations, your vendors and your accounts.

Moving inventory between two of your own locations. Taking finished work to a client’s office. Collecting from a supplier on the other side of the Beltway. One door to the next, signed off at both ends.

  • Parts, supplies and equipment
    04

    Parts, supplies and equipment

Totes, cartons and crates that keep a job moving.

Hardware, fittings, machine parts, trade supplies, small equipment. Loaded so nothing shifts in transit, and delivered to the person who needs it rather than left at a front desk.

  • Samples, documents and flat goods
    05

    Samples, documents and flat goods

Envelopes, tubes, plans and presentation samples.

Blueprints and drawing sets, signed documents that need a real hand-off, product samples for a meeting, presentation boards. Flat, protected, and handed to a person instead of a mailroom.

  • One big item that fits a van

One big item that fits a van

No full truck needed — just the right size of vehicle.

A single piece of furniture, a display fixture, a trade-show stand, a rolled rug, a piece of equipment on a pallet. If it fits through the back doors of a cargo van and it can be handled by one person, it is a run.

Why businesses keep the van on speed dial.

A courier is a small piece of a business’s day that has to work every time. That is a different job from moving the cheapest thing across town.

01

One driver, start to finish

The person who loads your freight is the person who signs it off at the other end. Nothing gets handed off between depots or re-scanned into a hub.

02

You text the driver, not a dispatcher

No call center, no ticket number, no waiting for someone to relay a message. The number on this page reaches the van.

03

Local, because this is all there is

DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia are the area on the regular. The Beltway, the Dulles corridor, the bridge crossings — the routing is known, not looked up.

04

Schedules that fit a business

A one-off run today, or a standing weekly route that just happens. Either way you are working with the same person who already knows your stops.

The whole DMV — and it is not a guess.

The regular coverage is Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia. That means the federal core and Capitol Hill, the Montgomery and Prince George’s business parks, Arlington and Alexandria, and out along the Dulles corridor.

If a run starts inside that area and ends a little outside it, say so — it can usually be worked out rather than refused.

Full process
  1. 1

Tell us what needs to move

What it is, where it is coming from, where it is going, and when it has to be there. A text is enough. The quote form is here if you prefer typing it out.

  2. 2

    Get the details confirmed

You get a price for that specific run and a time window you can plan around — or a straight question if something about the job is unclear.

  3. 3

    Delivered, and confirmed

Loaded, driven, and handed to a person at the other end. You hear back when it lands, not when a tracking page decides to update.

Request a quote for a run.

Fill this in and it comes straight to the driver. Nothing is automated into a queue — a real number for that run comes back to you.

The questions that come up first.

How do I book a run?

Send the quote form on this site, or text and call (202) 805-0054. Tell us what is moving, where it is coming from, where it is going and when it needs to be there. Most requests get a real answer the same day.

How fast can you pick something up?

Same-day is normal when you get in touch early. If the request comes in late in the day, the honest answer may be first thing the next morning, and you will hear that straight away rather than after you have already promised a customer.

Do you deliver outside Washington DC?

Yes. The regular area is Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia — the DMV. If a run starts here and ends a little further out, say so in the request and it can be worked out.

What do you charge?

It depends on the run: the distance, the time of day, how much is moving and how quickly it has to be there. Send the details and you get a number for that specific job, not a rate sheet that does not match it.

Can I set up a standing delivery schedule?

That is the best way to use a courier. Weekly or twice-weekly routes, the same stops, an arrangement that does not need re-explaining every time. Describe the rhythm you need and it can be built around your business.

What if a delivery is urgent or changes while it is in transit?

You are texting the person driving, so a change reaches the van directly instead of going through a call center. If a drop-off time moves or the address is wrong, you will hear about it from the driver, not from a tracking page.

Tell us what needs to move.

Text or call and you are talking to the person driving the van. Describe the run in a sentence and you will get a straight answer.
